Melissa Dalton CNMT
As a native Southern Californian I grew up close to the shore in Huntington Beach and the ocean is definitely my sanctuary. I have been an athlete my entire life. Those athletics include Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, and Martial Arts(Kenpo), to name a few. Accomplishing my first Olympic Distance Triathlon in June of 2016 athletics continue to be a very important part of my life. With no intention of slowing down good health, nutrition and self-care are essential for my quality of life and optimal performance. Along with being an athlete I have been a performer my whole life. Acting is my passion and I continue to do Theatre and Film as opportunities present themselves. So, put the two together, Actress and Athlete, and what you have is someone who truly understands the importance of taking care of the body and the mind. So, it is no surprise my other passion in life has been helping people through massage rehabilitate, manage stress, relax, achieve optimal performance and a higher quality of life.
I have been a massage therapist for 8 years in the health care field working in health centers and privately with an array of clients ranging from people recovering from injury such as whiplash, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tendinitis, etc.; collegiate football players preparing for the NFL combine, athletes working towards optimal performance, elderly in need of palliative care, and people overcoming stress striving for better health. Incredibly grateful for this profession and to see every day the difference it makes in the people’s lives I work on as well as my own.
Education and Background
Years ago, in 1999, I suffered from Forward Head Posture. It became very challenging to function and was threatening my active lifestyle. Athletically and personally the pain and fatigue were taking a toll affecting my level of performance in everything. Fortunately, I was introduced to an amazing Chiropractor who put me through an intensive 6 month Corrective Care Procedure which included massage. I got my life back and became passionate about massage which would become a career that had not even been on my radar prior to this experience. Some of the best things in my life have come from what seemed to be a tragedy. I have never been without a Chiropractor since. Chiropractic and massage continue to be a part of my preventative health care regimen and my health has never been better!
My education background includes AA Degree (Golden West College),BA Degree in Theatre Arts (Cal State University Fullerton), 3rd Degree Black Belt (Steve Spry’s American Kenpo), and Certified Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (National Holistic Institute).
Grateful for my life and good health I continue to train, act, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, be of service where I can, check off “bucket list” items, and enjoy time with those closest to me.
